I think seeing the beauty in every day things is important.  Appreciating the small things.  All those small things add up.  I keep getting comments at shows on how I paint regular everyday things.   I've never really thought about it, I just paint what inspires me.  At first it was a test...can I paint that and capture how the light is showing off it's beauty?  Having my studio in my home probably helps to foster this, these are the things I see, use and eat.   I've heard advise given to writers to write what you know, well I guess I'm applying this to painting.
